Ministry to youth in Community Lutheran Church is strongly associated with ministry involving their parents and families. Youth and their families meet for lunch, fellowship, and planning sessions most every month. Special activities which they help plan are also held at different times each month. You are invited to ask for more information by calling the church office at 763-2422. Ask to speak with Pastor.

Sunday Morning Children and Youth Activities in the Learning Center
Nursery
Learning Center Curriculum
On Sunday mornings, the Learning Center is open for children of all ages from infants through Jr. High. Four classes meet during the 9:00 worship service. Children are part of the Lower or Upper Elementary groups. Lower Elementary children are those in kindergarten through third grade. Upper Elementary children are those in the fourth and fifth grades.
Nursery is available for children ranging from infants to five-year-olds. The children enjoy playful learning activities and Bible stories.
The curriculum which is taught to the Elementary Classes is published by Augsburg Fortress, and entitled Life Together. It is based upon the Scripture readings from the Revised Common Lectionary for each Sunday with special focus on the Gospel. Biblical and Christian concepts are taught with strong emphasis upon relating them to life today, encouraging young people to integrate their faith with their secular education, and day to day experiences with their friends, families, and their lives in the church.
“The Bread of Life”
Show kids a sandwich.
Ask them to Imagine a sandwich w/o bread.
Bread is what makes a sandwich real!
You might have all kinds of things you like to put in a sandwich,
But it wouldn’t be a sandwich.
Jesus says something to us that is really important to think about
He says, “I am the bread of life.”
We can’t imagine a sandwich w/o bread
But many people imagine they can live just fine w/o Jesus
Let’s think for a minute: What if you tried to make a pb sandwich w/o
bread?
You could use your fingers or a knife to dip some of the peanut butter
But, you know what? You’d have a bit of a mess, and you’d never have a
sandwich.
People who try to live w/o Jesus have life that is like a sandwich w/o
bread!
And then they end up wondering why their life is such a mess
You know why: They don’t have the bread of life.
They never have a complete life at all–the kind of life God wants to
give
them.
You’re here today trying to make Jesus part of your life
Maybe you know somebody who don’t know anything about Jesus
Maybe you can bring them here to learn that Jesus is the bread of life.
Just tell them that life w/o Jesus is like a sandwich w/o bread!
